Exhibition: FINAL PROJECT
December 1, 2011I took pictures of odors. A lot of the synonyms of odor were things that dissipate like karma, nimbus, and halo. So in the pictures I am showing the odors dissipating in the air.

The Proposal
November 29, 2011
The Word: Odor- expressions people use on the line related to this word.
November 10, 2011“What a piece of shit”
“That stinks”
“Karma’s a bitch!”
“That’s shitty”
“Somethings fishy about this”

The Word: Odor-synonym: halo
November 10, 2011When I first saw halo I was thinking of angels with halos. But when I typed the word into Google many searches came up for the video game Halo. Its ironic that halo is something around an angel, but the video game Halo is very violent and about killing people. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that game (i like that game).
First I observed people who did nice things (they were “angel-like”). Then I observed people who seemed like they played a lot of video games. it was very interesting to see the similarities and the contrasts of these two different categories of people.

The Word: Odor- synonym: Nimbus
November 10, 2011Nimbus is a luminous cloud.
The clouds at Alfred, on the line really vary everyday. Maybe its because the weather is so inconsistent and crazy here.
Somedays the whole sky is grey. Its like one huge depressed cloud is layered over the blue sky.
Then somedays it is polar opposite. The sky is bright blue and it is sunny without a cloud in the sky.
Sometimes there are big white fluffy clouds (which are the best kind!). These clouds are the best for pulling out figures in the sky (like what i always used to do when I was little).
Sometimes there’s very thin strips of clouds.
Sometimes jets make a skinny white line in the air. When I was little I used to think that the jet made clouds!

The Word: Odor- synonym: Karma
November 10, 2011Anything I do on the line will result in karma. It can be good karma or bad karma depending on what it is I do. But no matter what I do karma will always happen.
When I hold the door open for someone on the line it will result in good karma.
I ran across the street in front of a car so it needed to quickly slow and come to a stop. That will result in bad karma.
Walking from place to place on the line instead of driving will result in good karma because it is better for the environment and it is physically better for me.
I witness other people doing things that will result in karma.
Someone doesn’t hold the door for someone even though they see them there. This will result in bad karma.
A car doesn’t stop for pedestrians.
A car doesn’t stop at all for a stop sign.
A person helps someone and explains a math problem they didn’t understand.
